Job Description

We are currently hiring a Transportation Planner in Breinigsville, PA. A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams' weekly schedule. This position is responsible for the successful planning and execution of shipments in to and out of their assigned manufacturing facilities. This individual will work on a variety of transportation processes in a fast-paced office environment. With guidance and supervision from the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Planner will be able to quickly pivot and prioritize against competing objectives, quickly gain understanding of various situations, and make critical, independent, systemic decisions. They shall interact with internal and external stakeholders professionally and effectively. This person must be able to communicate logically and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles. What You'll Brew: Own shipments into and out of assigned manufacturing facilities, ensuring adherence to standard carrier KPIs, such as on time pick and deliver Build, schedule and execute shipments to maximize service Ensure facilities have necessary equipment for loading Manage trailer pools Route dedicated fleet trucks to maximize service and reduce costs Track and report on carrier adherence to standards to manager Manage and build relationships with carriers; drive performance and KPI attainment Communicate service issues to proper internal business partners Investigate and process freight claims, track and report on claims by carrier, product, and location to Transportation Manager Assist in monthly carrier meetings to review performance. Create carrier scorecards for review Assist in developing action plans and reporting mechanisms for service improvement Identify opportunities to improve service and reduce costs. Develop plans to pursue and present to manager There is frequent exposure production environments: Subject to loud and constant noise Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness Work overtime as needed which may require 12-hour days, weekends, and holidays What Ingredients You'll Bring: Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years in Logistics Management or Supply Chain management Emphasis on experience in working for or with carriers, brokers and 3PL providers Data analysis experience along with Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel needed Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree SAP experience a plus Experience in working with TMS platforms a plus Level: 7 In accordance with pay transparency lawsthe salary range for this role if hired is $45,900 - $93,600 annually based on location and the experience level of the candidate.
