Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center is located in Breckenridge, Colorado - the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Nestled between the mountain and Main Street, at Beaver Run you're just a few steps away from the ski slopes in the winter and the hiking trails in the summer. With 40,000 square feet of conference and meeting spaces, Beaver Run is the largest conference center in Breckenridge with the most scenic views and most professional team, services and amenities.

What You'll Do:

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to handle our company's procurement, receiving, and strategic partnership development. The Purchasing Manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining and expanding our relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply, and creating an effective centralize warehouse program. This position supports all aspects of the business including lodging, food & beverage, and administrative functions. It is critical for this position to maintain knowledge of trends, prices, buyers and delivery conditions to anticipate future needs and direct purchasing programs accordingly. A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to foster and influence internal and external relationships. A key responsibility will be to identify and leverage pricing opportunities through scale of purchase and participation in industry specific purchasing programs. Effective time management, prioritization and organization is critical. Duties include but are not limited to ensuring compliance with departmental standards and policies, preparing and processing purchases and requisitions, building relationships with our vendors/suppliers, and inventory and data analysis. Reports to Food & Beverage Director. Position located on-premises in Breckenridge, CO. Transitional housing may be available. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility as described below.

Position starts at $70,000+ DOE annual salary

Supervisory Duties:

  • Lead a team of 2-4 direct reports.

  • Performance management including setting goals and expectations, annual reviews, monitoring performance, providing feedback and implementing corrective action.

  • Scheduling and administering time and attendance.

  • Hiring and training new staff.

  • Identify and create development and advancement opportunities.

  • Ensure proper adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and overseeing day-to-day activities of purchasing staff and warehouse activities including inventory management, receiving and distribution of mail/packages, and conference materials, etc.

  • Developing an organization's procurement rules and regulations.

  • Establishing guidelines on how often the company gets price quotes for items, the number of bids to accept and which vendors to consider.

  • Negotiating pricing and contracts for the company.

  • Buying goods and services and for the company.

  • Evaluating quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services.

  • Demand planning for key commodities and products.

  • Evaluating our proprietary items and supporting depletion when necessary.

  • Able to evaluate inventory during shoulder months and deplete inventories in accordance to business levels.

    What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field - preferred.

  • At least two years of experience in related field - required

  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook - required

  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools (Craftable, Agilysys or similar procurement platform) - preferred

  • Experience with keycard printing software - preferred
