The Lead Hospitality Assistant position exists to oversee the hospitality staff, which consists of housekeeping and kitchen while ensuring team members are properly trained to serve couples, groups, events, etc. during their time at FMI.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Is responsible for the operations of the assigned shift in the Hospitality area, ensuring that FMI provides each guest with an experience that is characterized by highly attentive service, excellent food and beverages, and cleanliness throughout the property

Develops and trains staff on procedures for cooking, service, food handling, and safety that are compliant with standards set by the County Health Department. Ensures that all Hospitality Assistants are trained in Serve Safe and other required training programs as necessary

Actively participates in cooking and food preparation, demonstrating culinary expertise and leadership

Oversees inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs

Creates and innovates menu items and recipes, considering dietary restrictions, trends, and guest preferences

Responds promptly to guest feedback and dietary requests, including allergies, ensuring meals are prepared safely and to satisfaction

Is responsible for following food safety guidelines set by the County Health Department

Receives and inventories deliveries from all vendors

Manages the ever-increasing special needs of guests that range from preference to life-threatening food allergies. Informs the Hospitality team of these special needs to ensure the wellbeing and experience of guests

Ensures Hospitality work area is clean, well maintained, and free of safety hazards

Maintains the cleanliness of all guest areas

Maintains the cleanliness of the Hospitality Center, general cleaning of floors, windows, bathrooms, and counseling rooms, etc.

Is sensitive to know when areas are off limits for cleaning due to noise

Does laundry, as needed

Attends and maintains Chemical Training

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned

Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:

Supervises and trains staff

Responsible for food safety including interactions with the Health Department

Responsible for Culinary management, with a focus on kitchen operations and menu development

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility

Counsels/mentors employees for growth and departmental expectations; exhorts and provides evaluation to staff

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam

Must be able to work 40+ hours per week as needed

Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

In the event of staff shortages or emergencies, must be able to assist in Housekeeping

Must be able to lift up to 40lbs

Must be able to push/pull up to 25lbs

Must be able to bend and reach above head

Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity

Some exposure to gases, odors, fumes, and sharp utensils

Occasional holiday and weekend work is required

Knowledge/Experience:

High school Diploma

1-2 years of experience in dealing with the public and in food preparation and management

Must have Serve Safe and Chemical Training certifications

Supervisory experience helpful
