W R CASE & SONS CUTLERY COMPAN Finishing/Finisher in Bradford, Pennsylvania

PRIMARY DUTIES

· Perform various skills of finishing a Case knife, including but not limited to: buffing blades (by hand using a cloth wheel to add shine or luster), gloss buffing (by hand using cloth buffing wheel), hone (create cutting edge of knife by hand, using sandpaper belt), polish edge (remove burr left over from honing process, done by hand using cloth wheel)

· Perform sandpaper/belt changes and various wheel changes as required

· Break in new buff/raking down buff as necessary

· Properly apply buffing compound to buffing wheels

· Measure angle of honed edge

· Determine quality levels and perform inspection of product, performing required inspection before, during and after finishing

· Responsible for cleanliness of work area during and upon completion of jobs

· Take instructions from supervisors and assist Engineering/Quality departments as needed

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Physical ability to: stand as required by operation, sit for extended periods in front of equipment, move normally throughout department as required by operation, lift up to 35# (lifting trays containing knives, wheels, and/or other components), push/pull as required by operation, normal or corrected vision for inspection of work/components, and some repetitive motion (wrist motion, pressure, and exposure to vibration)
