    Job Overview:

    Responsible for interacting with FED and hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills. Will work at the Hospital's Main Campus, but may float to the Free Standing Emergency Department.

    General Responsibilities:

  • Operates C.T. scanner and processors.

  • Analyzes body habitus and has knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy in order to correctly adjust technical factors.

  • Positions the body correctly, reviews physician’s written orders and obtains pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and staff.

  • Ability to perform a variety of exams (including but not limited to), Body, Head / Facial, 3D, Vascular runoffs, CTA’s and Biopsy / procedure Guidance scans.

  • Ability to use independent judgment in performing these various exams.

  • Properly screens all patients to ensure there are no contraindications for ordered exam.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Ability to learn new tasks such as registration of patients.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.

  • WIllingness to take ownership in the F.E.D and Imaging Department environments and all daily operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a registered technologist in an acute care facility.

  • Two years C.T. experience preferred.

  • Registered by and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the Florida Bureau of Radiation Control. C.T. certification from the ARRT preferred.

  • Current CPR / BLS certification required.

  • Venipuncture certification preferred.
