About this role

This position is responsible for product and system testing of hardware and software. Other responsibilities include the ability to acquire test data, document data using various tools, and support lab infrastructure builds as required. Plus, general set up and overall maintenance of the test lab.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes test plans in accordance with agency standards and product requirements.

  • Supports development and review of test plans and testing requirements.

  • Design, document and construct test equipment and tools.

  • Assemble systems and units and program them to execute required testing.

  • Provide technical documentation, direction, training and troubleshooting assistance.

  • Work with and support engineering team with R&D testing efforts.

  • Assist in the development and documentation of SAP’s and test procedures.

  • Provides defect documentation, tracking and reporting; investigates and fully characterizes test failures; ensures that defects are entered with adequate information to reproduce the problem.

  • Supports installation and configuration of test infrastructure, components and operating systems

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as requested.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma

  • 2+ years of electronic and/or system testing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with electronic and system testing.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • The candidate should have experience and ability to operate standard test equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs, and function generators.

  • Experience with manual testing, testing tools, reading test plans and reviewing test cases.

  • Good interpersonal skills, organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and agency specifications.

  • Technical experience with troubleshooting fundamental knowledge.

  • General knowledge and understanding of basic electronics.

  • Experience with UL, ULC and other industry standards and agencies.

  • Ability to solder electronic components (thru-hole and SMT).
