The position, Graphics Tech, is responsible for applying various graphics to emergency apparatus according to specified customer orders. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues with application effectively. This position also requires maintaining orders for the laser engraver and delegating work to teammates according to workflow.

Essential Functions

  • Interpret work orders and prints and transfer to pattern and product

  • Communicate design layouts

  • Measure and mark up truck with striping layout

  • Pre-fit/pre-cut material pieces

  • Prepare numbers and letters for application to truck (weeding/masking)

  • Apply striping to truck

  • Apply numbers, letters, and (when requested) customer furnished emblems

  • Disassemble and reassemble small components of emergency apparatus as needed

  • Prioritize the work based upon schedule

  • Troubleshoot issues that may delay application

  • Design and operate laser engraver

  • Operate graphics printers and plotters

  • Modify designs and drawings as needed to match and fit the intended layout on the vehicle

  • Perform product inspections and final sign off

  • Collect and maintain record stats and process control

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills

  • Regular attendance required

  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education or two-three years of related experience and/or training

Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions

  • Ability to use tape measure.

  • Ability to use various small and pneumatic hand tools.

  • Ability to use various software such as World, Corel Draw, Composer, Excel, and Word

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Ability to perform twisting, turning, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions

  • Ability to lift at least 20lbs

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, vest

Work Environment

Working conditions will be inside and outside where temperatures will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold for extended periods of time. This position is regularly exposed to vibration and loud noises.
