Bozeman Health Cook Position (FT- 0.9 FTE) in Bozeman, Montana

At Hillcrest we believe in nurturing our residents through fresh produce, meats, fish, seafood, and our passion for quality dishes. This position requires advanced culinary innovation and creativity.

Hillcrest Senior Living is an amazing retirement community, overlooking the Bridger mountains. We have a full production kitchen. Shifts are 6am-7:30pm and would be 3 days per week.Position Summary:

The Cook position participates as a member of the food production staff to prepare and serve food for patients, residents and non-patient services. This position is responsible for the quality and safety of food to our customers. Additional areas of responsibility may include catering set-up and service, quality control monitors, organization of inventory and cleaning assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, perform basic math, write and follow verbal and written directions

  • Preferred: 6 months experience in food preparation or formal culinary training

  • Preferred: ServSafe

  • Preferred: 1 year previous institutional or large volume food service and preparation experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepares food for patients, residents and non-patient meals.

  • Completes cleaning assignments

  • Participates in production team meetings, menu and recipe development as assigned

  • Completes food production records and various reports as assigned

  • Checks in inventory as assigned

  • May be assigned to put inventory away per standard operating procedures in dry storage, refrigerators, freezers, service areas

  • Participates in dish room and assigned cleaning procedures

  • Records department statistics and other information

  • Assists in other areas of food production as assigned. (Catering, prep, etc.)

  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment

  • Ability to work varied shifts

  • Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making

  • Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality
