Job Description

Job Summary:

The Compliance Manager will ensure that the organization is in compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards. This includes external, government-level requirements and internal, corporate-level requirements. Examples include Global Trade Compliance, Environment Management, Health and Safety, and Quality Systems. The role will lead various projects to enhance operational excellence and overall efficiency of the organization. The scope of the position will be focused on local operations in Bozeman but will often interface with other operations within the company. This is a Manager level individual contributor position leading key initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze compliance programs for the company.

  • Revise compliance programs as necessary to meet changing needs of company.

  • Train employees on compliance guidelines, requirements and standards.

  • Answer questions regarding regulations to help other members of company better understand.

  • Compile and analyze both internal and external information to prepare compliance audit data.

  • Serve as point of contact for compliance-related visits and audits.

  • Collect and coordinate internal compliance data with other departments to support said departments.

  • Implement policies, procedures and systems to provide administrative support to departments.

  • Study both existing and new legislation, enforce obedience to policies and advise management on necessary actions to make sure company complies with local, state, and federal legal requirements.

  • Stay current on industry standards by continuing education, reading publications, talking with peers and joining professional groups.

  • Develop and lead an environmental, health and safety (EHS) program.

  • Analyze business metrics for internal reporting.

  • Lead global trade compliance efforts including proper classification of materials under EAR and/or ITAR.

  • Support Quality Management System processes such as corrective action, internal audits, and calibration.

  • Explore new, innovative opportunities to add value to your job and the job of everyone in the company.

Job Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in business compliance including but not limited to environmental health and safety (EHS), global trade compliance (GTC), or equivalent/related field.

  • Proven leadership skills with 1-3+ years of experience leading and managing key compliance initiatives.

  • Strong working knowledge of Compliance, Safety and Quality.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
