Aerotek Carpenter in Bozeman, Montana

Description:

The Carpenter is responsible for performing a variety of carpentry and general building construction tasks at various residential, commercial, and/or industrial job site locations. This position works under direct supervision of the Foreman/Lead Carpenter.

  • Performs basic layout work for new construction sites and/or remodels.

  • Constructs and positions concrete forms for footings and foundations using power and hand tools. Occasionally may help pours concrete. Disassembles forms when concrete is set.

  • Installs and sets floor joists, frames floor, and lays down sheets of plywood to build the sub-floor.

  • Builds exterior/interior walls, stands walls up, and braces/secures them into place.

  • Installs protective sheeting around exterior walls to seal out weather from the walls.

  • Frames openings for windows and doors.

  • Hangs exterior/interior doors and exterior windows.

  • Installs roof trusses, sheets of plywood, and lays roof sheeting.

  • Performs finishing work to including installing inside trim pieces, sanding, staining, and/or painting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous construction experience required with basic understanding of stud layout, rough framing, and basic ability to read and understand blueprints.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable means of transportation to job site locations.

  • Must provide own basic hand tools, however employer provides specialty tools and equipment.

Schedule:

  • M-F

  • Starts roughly around 7am -3pm (depending on project need)

  • OT as needed
