Wood County Hospital Medical Laboratory Scientist (Full Time-DAYS) in Bowling Green, Ohio

Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Medical Technologist in our Laboratory Department. The selected candidate will provide accurate and timely testing of specimens brought into the lab.

Job Duties:

  • Performs all aspects of laboratory test ordering, specimen processing, and result reporting for inhouse manual and automated procedures as well as referred testing to produce accurate, quality, timely laboratory data.

  • Verifies patient identity according to hospital and department policy before performing any procedure.

  • Performs required maintenance on instruments and documentation of procedures performed and as assigned.

  • Demonstrates appropriate skills and knowledge required to work with neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Shift Details:

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week

Shift: Days 

Weekend Rotation 

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • An associate degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science required. Associate's degree in medical technology/Clinical Laboratory Sciences preferred.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology/Clinical Laboratory Science preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1 year of clinical lab experience preferred.

Preferred Certification:        

  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) certified or equivalent within 1 year of employment preferred.
