Summary

 

The general purpose of this position is to design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for football student-athletes.

 

Essential Functions

 

• Assist in the Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs for football program.

 

• Assist with workout design and implementation for additional Olympic sports assignments.

 

• Assist the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning for Football with all aspects of program administration.

 

• Directly supervise and train interns/practicum students.

 

• Coordinate training facility cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

 

• Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

The following Degree is required:

 

• Bachelor's Degree required in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field. Degree must be conferred at time of application.

 

The following Degree is preferred:

 

• Master's Degree

 

The following Experience is required:

 

• One year of experience in a NCAA member strength & conditioning program working with athletes

• 1 year of internship, externship, co-op, etc counts for 6 months of professional experience

 

The following licenses, certifications, or registrations is required:

 

• Certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association

• Documented CPR and AED certifications

 

• Can be obtained upon hiring

 

Additional Information

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

• Must have the ability to work in the collegiate setting with collegiate athletes, coaches and other athletic department staff

• Applicant must exhibit ability to instruct, supervise, and demonstrate associated exercises in a weightlifting based training environment

• Successful candidate must display competency to coordinate with the Asst. Director of Strength & Conditioning for Football and the Football Athletic Trainers regarding certain biomechanical assessments as well as implementation of the return to play protocols for athletes returning from injury

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Very strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage groups of diverse people
