Fruit of the Loom, Inc. Assistant Marketing Manager in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Position Summary

The Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for the oversight of marketing initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing Manager to ultimately drive business unit growth and profitability. Specific responsibilities include project management in partnership with cross-functional teams; management of creative projects such as packaging, merchandising displays and eCommerce needs; new product/style setup; business analytics and reporting. The Assistant Marketing Manager also collaborates with the manager on budget management, forecast and inventory management, and pricing projects.

Specific Responsibilities

Project Management:

· Oversee marketing projects at various stages to a successful and timely execution. Requires strong leadership across the various teams to ensure business objectives are met.

· Partner with the cross-functional teams and potential external partners in the completion of marketing initiatives

· Lead in the development and tracking of elements on the project calendar.

· Manage status reports on project elements with clear action items and deliverables and follow-up with cross-functional team members and agencies as needed to ensure all project elements are on track.

• In conjunction with manager, approve materials as needed to secure progress and ultimate completion.

Style Packet/PLM Management System:

Initiate process for specific styles and costing packets. Consult with manager on issues.

Website Content Management:

Partner with the digital marketing team to identify and communicate new product launches and content needs for fruit.com & retailer.com relative to assigned business unit category. Collaborate on product content needs and strategy, identifying and communicating competitive updatesandother relevant information.

Management of Creative Projects/Processes:

· Outline packaging graphics strategy and initiatecreative request for packaging, display merchandisers, promotional material, special retailer requests, etc.

· Ownership ofthe approval process through completion.

Weekly/Monthly Reporting:

Develop/coordinate and disseminate necessary reports accurately and in a timely manner. Analyze metrics and present recommendations and action plans that support the goals and strategic imperatives from the various initiatives and communicate to appropriate management.

Product Portfolio Management:

· Ownership and creating target costs and aligning with manager on approval.

· Activeley participate in product design reviews and collaborate with manager on product development process. Work closely with Merchandising on creation and completion of line plan.

Pricing/Trade Promotions:

Development of pricing recommendations by analyzing cost, list price and suggested retail price to achieve FTL and retailer target margins. Provide recommendations to the business for trade and consumer promotional strategies.

Communications/Presentations:

· Presentation creation and delivery across internal teams and potential external partners. Work closely with cross functional teams to develop fact-based presentations to sell-in new products, analyze and make planogram recommendations

· Present new product introductions and current style updates during internal and external meetings, which may occur in person or via live or recorded broadcasts, through any media outlet.

· At the Company’s direction, prepare and appear in person or via live or recorded broadcasts, in consumer-facing presentations, videos and other communications, providing information about the Company’s brands and products.

Inventory Management and Forecasting

Research and identify retail sales trends and develop recommendations regarding forecast and inventory levels

P&L Budget Management:

· Prepare annual budget reconciliation for packaging and display investments. Align with manager and director on go forward needs. Ensure spending is tracking to budget.

· May input and manage through Oracle all invoices/payments against the budget. Validate that invoices received are accurate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.

  • Solid understanding of marketing mix: Product, Pricing, Promotion/Advertising, Distribution strategies.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage many projects simultaneously.

  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective presentation skills.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and interface with various levels of management.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making skills.

  • Able to keep on top of new marketing/consumer trends and technology.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Minimum Job Experience Required

  • 1 – 3 years’ apparel or consumer product goods experience in marketing or brand management or 3– 5 years of experience in general marketing or brand management
