Responsibilities of the Power Engineer may include but are not limited to:

The role of the Power Engineer is to coordinate both short and long-term strategies to ensure safe and reliable operation of our substation and distribution system throughout the facility. This individual will assist with root cause analysis, determining/implementing corrective actions, developing specifications for equipment and projects, and training of plant personnel on all systems within our medium and high voltage distribution network.

Ideal candidate must: Have knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures. Be reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations. Have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Have knowledge of (basic) electrical theory, including (basic) troubleshooting, installation, repair and/or maintenance of electronic equipment. Have knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to work at hand. Be proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and be willing to take on responsibilities and challenges including introducing new ideas for the continuous improvement of the work area. Be able to identify problems and analyze or review related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution. Have the ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with protective relays and relay coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of experience in leading cross functional projects, including electrical and civil engineering, in an industrial environment

Must be able to perform all essential fuctions of the job with or without reasonable accomodation.
