Basic Job Functions:

Must adhere to NRFs safety programs and standards.

  • Promotes and expects from others a conduct consistent with NRFs vision and values.

  • Work with fellow shop Leads and Supervisors in establishing daily work assignments to maximize shift operations.

  • Responsible for all department teammates, safety and shop housekeeping while meeting the production quality and quantity standards on the shift

  • Continuous department walkthroughs to maintain the highest of safety standards.

  • Help Leads to assign mentors and help train teammates in the safe and efficient use of the equipment that they are assigned to.

  • Maintain a shared responsibility and shared accountability with team safety and shop housekeeping, production and quantity standards on the shift

  • Understand and assign daily workload to the team.

Responsible for all department operations such as:

  • Shearing Machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.

  • Bending Machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specific shape.

  • Forklift to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.

  • Overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.

  • Grit blaster and Powder coating booth to clean and epoxy coat bars.

  • Power spray gun in application of epoxy touch up paint.

  • Other various hand tools to assist in the fabrication process.

  • Responsible for continuous communication with Supervisors and other department Leads.

  • Troubleshoot production problems so that delays are minimized, and equipment functions as safely and efficiently as possible.

  • Responsible for and assisting in the maintenance of all department equipment.

  • Responsible for department Quality Control perform routine walkthroughs and inspections to ensure accurate fabrication, correct quantity, correctly tagged and all team completes tasks in a timely manner.

  • Oversee inventory needs assists in the ordering process.

  • Oversee department maintenance and needs.

  • Ensure that all established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are followed.

  • Collect necessary data for production reports, timesheets, incentive calculations and other reports as required by Supervisors.

  • Operate computer equipment often and efficiently.

  • Maintain your department in a clean and safe manner.

  • Limited assistance in operations so that shift work is done efficiently and on time.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three year experience in the rebar fabrication industry

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of all branch software programs, such as:

  • Navision

  • Dayforce

  • aSa

  • Understanding of branch production flow

  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Industrial Safety Standards

  • OSHA 30 certified

  • Crane Trainer certified

  • Able to operate all department equipment efficiently.
