CHAS W BANGERTER & SON INC Farm Worker/Crop Laborer (Temporary) in BOUNTIFUL, Utah

Temporary Need: 06/07/24 - 11/01/24. Ten (10) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm Workers/Crop Laborers needed. Requirements: Must have three (3) months prior experience in field work and harvesting. Wage is $16.63/hour. Hours: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri. 7:00am-4:00pm. Location: Work will be performed in Bountiful and Farmington, Davis County, Utah. Duties: Manually harvest vegetables - clean, sort, pack and load harvested products. Exposure to extreme temp, repetitive movements, extensive pushing, pulling walking and frequent stooping Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs frequently. Transportation provided to jobsite from central location. Terms and conditions of employment: Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities and transportation provided at no cost to the worker. Workers must be available for the entire work period; work at a sustained, vigorous pace on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. Upon completion of the work contract, employer will pay reasonable costs (most economical) of return transportation and subsistence in accordance with current rates published in the Federal Register (currently no less than $15.88 per day without receipts and up to $59.00 per day with receipts as the maximum amount to be reimbursed (per 20CFR655.173). Workers who voluntarily quit or are terminated for cause prior to completing 50% of the contract period will be required to reimburse the empoyer for the full amounts of transportation and subsistence which were advanced and/or reimbursed to the worker. The employer will not be responsible for providing the cost of return transportation and subsistence from the place of employment to the place of recruitment if the worker voluntarily abondons the job or is terminated for just cause. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (or whichever is the highest rate). This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
