Job Summary

A postdoctoral associate position is immediately available with the Department of Computer Science at CU Boulder. This position is part of an NSF CSSI project . The successful applicant will be jointly supervised by Prof. Qin "Christine" Lv in the Computer Science Department and Dr. Carrie Wall in the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) and will have full access to the state-of-the-art laboratories and other resources at CU Boulder.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The successful applicant will investigate the application of self-supervised machine learning for NOAA water column sonar data, and will design and develop cloud-based cyberinfrastructure. The successful applicant will lead the coordination efforts across international research teams for the design and development of the proposed cyberinfrastructure.

This position will be funded full-time for two years in Boulder, CO.

The salary for this position will be $70,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Ph.D in Computer Science, Data Science, Oceanography or a related field.

What You Will Need

  • Experience in applying machine learning methods to a domain science.

  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Experience with python programming for big data analysis.

  • Interest and demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
