About the role Contributes to continual improvement, reduction of variation, and conformance to requirements. Directly supports supply chain, product development, production, and customer support activities. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Coordinates with other engineers and departments to evaluate problems, identify root causes, and implement process improvements. Coordinates with other engineers and departments to establish process controls, reduce variation, and improve yield. Monitors supplier performance and evaluates quality of incoming materials. Coordinates with Leviton supply chain and external suppliers to improve supplier performance. Facilitates the evaluation of customer quality concerns. Participates in new product design activities, focusing primarily on design verification, product validation, and incorporating lessons learned from other business processes (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, customer quality concerns). Coordinates control of nonconforming material, including identification, containment, evaluation, and disposition. Supports programs related to continual improvement, including corrective actions and internal audits. Defines required inspection and measurement activities, including new product inspection, receiving inspection, and calibration. Assists in activities required to maintain third party quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001). Qualifications Uses descriptive statistics to evaluate both variable, proportional, and categorical data. Familiar with multiple techniques for data analysis and visualization, such as pivot charts, histograms, scatter charts, bar charts, etc. Able to apply scientific and engineering principles to problem solving in a manufacturing environment. Can understand technical requirements and determine if processes or products conform to those technical requirements. Able to develop written documentation and presentations that are clear, concise, precise, and appropriate for their intended audience. Demonstrates effective verbal communication across all levels of the organization. Attention to detail. Participates effectively in cross functional groups. Can prioritize and make progress on multiple projects with some assistance from more experienced personnel. Plans effectively and can subdivide complex projects into manageable tasks. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or technical field from an accredited college or university required. Engineering Degree preferred.
