Lundbeck Seattle BioPharmaceuticals (Lu-SBP), located in Bothell, Washington, is the Process Development Center of Excellence for Biologics within the global Lundbeck CMC organization. Since integrating into Lundbeck in October 2019, Lu-SBP has supported commercial launch of Lundbeck’s first biologic product (Vyepti) and advancement of a growing biologics pipeline in collaboration with our Copenhagen-based Late-Stage Development and Production groups. The Lu-SBP team leads and supports the development of new product candidates from cell line development through commercial validation of Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing processes. POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports early and late stage analytical development and characterization towards commercialization of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). Responsibilities include assay development, optimization, & testing support on a variety of analytical techniques, data analysis and report writing. This work also involves interacting with Lundbeck Seattle Upstream, Downstream, and Quality Control groups.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct experiments and data analysis

  • Perform routine testing to support process development and formulations/DP

  • Interpret analytical results with supervision

  • Perform data verification

  • Develop and optimize analytical methods; perform troubleshooting for analytical method issues

  • Write analytical methods and development reports

  • Conduct characterization tests for IND filings

  • Responsible for instrument maintenance and trouble-shooting equipment problems

  • Ensures lab efficiency with on-time delivery of results

  • Collaborate with other internal functions including Upstream, Downstream and Quality Control on testing deliverables for multiple projects

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant analytical chromatography or combination of education and experience in relevant analytical chromatography totaling 6 years

  • Must have experience performing HPLC/UPLC and wet chemistry assays.

  • Successful candidate will have good oral, written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and effectively work in a team environment

  • Ability to focus and work in a fast-pace and results oriented environment is essential

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry with 2+ years of experience in biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry or combination of education and experience in biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry totaling 6 years

  • Experience with Empower.

  • Experience with other analytical techniques such as CE-SDS, cIEF and ELISAs.

TRAVEL:

  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 5% domestically. International travel may be required. (If applicable)
