This role reflects and upholds the policies and procedures set forth by the Executive Committee.

This Weekend Relief Staff member will:

  • Administer operating policies and procedures: record-keeping, reporting, maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, dietary, security and transportation, in collaboration with the day house manager and hospital departments.

  • Ensure that house rules, procedures, and protocols are followed by guests.

  • Keep apprised of the medical status of child and the changing needs of the family.

  • Ensure all resident families are functioning well together while lending support, managing problematic guests and assisting day manager in arranging support services.

  • Respond to crisis situations, including medical and psychosocial, in compliance with the policies of the hospital and the City of Boston, MA.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Committee for the Yawkey Family Inn.

    To qualify, you must have:

  • Two years of occupationally ‑ specific education or training in a field related to human services or hospitality and one or more years' experience.

  • Analytical skills and basic computer competency

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

  • Maturity and a high regard for confidentiality and sensitivity in working with clients and staff.

  • Must be available to work the 2 required Saturday into Sunday shifts (one 24 hour shift per pay period, paid bi-weekly) plus rotating holidays.
