Works closely with IDS staff and Clinical Service Partners (CSP) to design and deliver tests of environments and processes across multiple areas to improve safety and quality of care. Supports impact capture and feedback to CSPs from testing activities and offers as needed support for other IDS training/testing activities and continuing education accreditation of courses as required.

Additional responsibilities of this position include:

  • Coordinates/executes HFSD activities from development to implementation, with support and guidance as needed.

  • Projects and programs include, but are not limited to needs assessment activities, stakeholder engagement meetings, process mapping, sandboxes, rapid prototyping, and simulation-based clinical system tests (SbCSTs).

  • Participates in scenario developments and facilitation.

  • Supports/Participates in the results and reporting process of HFSD projects.

  • Supports/partners with senior staff and at times with department management to interpret the relationship of processes/delivery, troubleshoot, resolve problems, and effectively respond to requests and provide insight into trends and implications.

  • Develops and maintains supportive relationships with clinical service partners (CSP) and other key stakeholders to enhance the development of HFSD activities and maximize impact from activities.

  • Develops and maintains advancing knowledge of current human factors and systems design trends, practices, and techniques through participation in professional organizations, attendance at conferences, seminars, and other continuing education programs.

  • Serves as a member of the IDS Program and interdisciplinary team. Supports and sometimes leads the execution of department programs and processes across IDS as needed.

  • Communicates issues as they arise to the Manager and Director of Human Factors and System Design.

  • Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues, contributes to the working group's achievement of goals, and helps foster a positive work environment.

To Qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years related experience

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills, including an ability to understand and explain complex concepts including presentations of a body of work to key partners and stakeholders, orally, in writing, and in presentations.

  • Capable of demonstrating effective professional communication skills, including diplomacy, discretion and a customer service mindset.

  • Skilled at evaluating relevant analytics and understanding content within the data.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as cohesively with a team.

  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities.

  • Ability to balance multiple responsibilities. Ability to work some evenings and/or weekends as well as occasional travel to present at conferences or meetings
