Title:

Sr. General Accounting Manager

HomeSafe Alliance is the single global household goods movement manager for USTRANSCOM and the U.S. Armed Forces, Department of Defense civilians, U.S. Coast Guard, and their families.

The Sr. Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Financial Controller in managing the company's financial operations. This includes preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and participating in budget planning and forecasting. The Sr. Accounting Manager will also work closely with other departments to ensure financial objectives are aligned with overall business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis :

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management.

  • Conduct variance analysis and identify trends in financial performance.

  • Assist in the preparation of management reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs).

Accounting and Compliance :

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.

  • Oversee daily accounting functions and liaise with KBR Corporate functions such as Taxes, Treasury, etc.

  • Collaborate with Internal Controls Manager to monitor assigned controls to safeguard the company's assets.

  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit and provide necessary documentation.

Process Improvement :

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in financial operations.

  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Team Leadership :

  • Assist in mentoring and training finance team members.

  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff on accounting issues.

Other Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional projects and initiatives.

  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller.

Requirements

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is required.

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.

Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in accounting software.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.

Analytical and Communication Skills :

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across departments.

Organizational and Time Management Skills :

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
