The Joining Amazon Technology team is building cutting edge solutions to revolutionize the way we onboard 2.8 million Amazon new workers a year in over 60 countries. We do not depend on third party monolithic HR systems. Our software products use Amazon Web Services to intelligently work through the complexity of country and role differences, and ensure new hires start successfully on Day 1 with delightful onboarding experiences. We enable all Amazon business' success to onboard new workers to meet dynamic business and market demands, e.g., over 100,000 new hires in the US and Canada in record speed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and country and region holiday and prime day retail lifecycle spikes. Our mission is clear: We seek to be the most technically proficient HR organization in the world.

The Joining Amazon Team is a new Tech team we are standing up. It will be the conductor of the end to end New Joining Amazon Experience. We will build software products to coordinate each step of the Joining journey, and serve candidates, recruiters, joining service team members and hiring managers. We will fill gaps of system integration, maximize data sharing, automate and reduce manual work where appropriate, while providing one stop shop for clear status and communication with streamlined and delightful user experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

· 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with designing and building large-scale web services

· Experience with service-oriented architecture

· Experience with supporting mission-critical, 24x7 systems

· Proven results and a history of project delivery

· Experience working with Agile engineering practices

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
