Position Small Tool Mechanic

Description

Feeney Brothers Excavation is seeking an experienced Small Tools Mechanic for our Dorchester, MA location. The Small Tools Mechanic will report to the Warehouse & Maintenance Manager and support field employees with multiple infrastructure construction projects ongoing throughout the CT area.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance and repairs of small construction tooling. Small tools include, but are not limited to, jumping jacks, chop saws, chain saws, generators, walk-behind saws, and jack hammers.

Basic computer skills are a must and personal interaction with vendors and employees will be frequent. Must be skilled, creative, and knowledgeable and have a passion for fixing and repairing tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance of small tools

  • Troubleshoot performance issues

  • Compete repairs in a timely manner

  • Report major tooling issues and/or problems to management

  • Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications

  • Count, sort and order parts through vendors and customers

  • Transport materials within facility and to/from project sites

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Related experience required; experience with light trucks will be considered

  • Must be familiar with underground construction tooling

  • Must possess a valid driver’s licenseAble to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Able to perform duties independently.

  • Able to follow through and complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner. Physical Requirements: Moderate to heavy lifting up to 75 pounds on occasional basis. Working Conditions: Shop environment with varying temperature and weather element conditions. Must be able to perform work outside during all seasons.
