Boston University RESEARCH SPECIALIST II, School of Medicine, Psychiatry in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Research Specialist II will be responsible for coordinating one multi-site clinical trial as well as assisting in the coordination of several other single site project, as as detailed below, under the direction of Principal Investigator Dr. Abigail Batchelder, and senior research team staff. The Research Specialist II may collaborate with other members of the research team, faculty, and staff of the Behavioral Health Equity Program, but will also be expected to take initiative and work well independently. Due to the time- or deadline-sensitive nature of many projects, the pace of work may be demanding at times. Other projects are long-term and require constant attention to prioritization.

Applicants with an interest in HIV, mental health interventions, substance use, health psychology, public health, and health disparities are strongly encouraged to apply. The applicant should be comfortable working with diverse issues related to sexuality, chronic illness, gender, substance use, and mental health.

This position will take place in a hybrid setting and the Research Specialist II will be expected to work in person up to 80% of the time (4/5 days a week). Ideal applicants will be comfortable working in both remote and in-person environments.

  • Experience applying Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, HIPAA, The Protection of Human Subjects Research Subjects, CHR regulations for recruitment/consent of research subjects strongly desired.

  • Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems strongly desired.

  • Ability to independently take initiative strongly desired.

  • Working knowledge of statistics, SPSS (or other data analysis software), and data management programs desired.

  • Ability to interpret acceptability of data results desired.

  • Human subjects research experience
