74508BRJob Posting Title:Program Coordinator I- CardiologyDepartment:CardiologyAutoReqId:74508BRStatus:Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Job Posting Category:ResearchJob Posting Description:Under direct supervision, the Program Coordinator I coordinates all activities and functions of a program to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This position is grant funded for 1 year. The determination for employment beyond the first year is still pending.

The Program Coordinator shall be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and performing varied research tasks requiring independent action and the setting of priorities and procedures

  • Implementing effective operational policies and procedures specific to the achievement of the objectives of the program

  • May be preparing or assisting in preparing proposal for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors

  • Conferring with staff and others to provide technical advice, providing problem solving assistance and answering questions about the program and its goals. Referring inquiries to others as needed

  • May be preparing or assisting in the preparation of periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies

  • May be reviewing applications or other program documents in conjunction with supervisor to determine acceptance or making decisions pertaining to program

  • May be assisting in the coordination of recruitment efforts

  • Drafting written communication and promotional literature

  • May be assisting in planning workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinating logistics, scheduling and participant communications

  • Interacting and maintaining liaison with staff, faculty and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters degree in public health or related field

  • Experience with REDCap databases

  • Technically competent with various software programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc

  • Proficiency in and/or desire to learn statistical software packages (R, SAS, SPSS, etc) for research data

To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate’s Degree. Bachelor’s preferred

  • 1 year of relevant work experience

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations

  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
