Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Program Coordinator of Student Engagement supports the Director of Student Engagement by advising student organizations, assisting in the planning and implementation of student events, supporting New Student and Family Orientation programs, and contributing to departmental goals and initiatives. ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY THROUGH* https://massart.interviewexchange.com/static/clients/576MAM1/index.jsp* DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist recognized student organizations in: Event planning, execution, and evaluation; including managing supply and catering orders as well as the contracting and payment of both internal and external performers, vendors and service providers * Coordination of travel, including booking transportation, reserving lodging, and registering students for conferences * Working with Conference & Event Services to reserve space and coordinate all technical and facilities-based needs for student events * Hire, train and supervise the MassArt Activities Council (MAC), the institution's programming board. Assist them in planning and executing a diverse schedule of social and cultural events, and provide mentorship, professional development, training, and guidance to maximize the efficacy of the programs they offer MassArt students. * Participate in the development and facilitation of leadership training opportunities for students * Coordinate traditional programs such as the semesterly Involvement Fair and Late Night Breakfast * Co-advise affinity groups alongside the Justice, Equity and Transformation office staff * Oversee the Veteran Student Lounge and Veteran's Day programs * Coordinate Civic Engagement efforts, including, but not limited to, Constitution Day and MassArt Votes voter education programs * Assist the Director in the implementation of New Student Orientation and transition events. Participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of Orientation Leader staff. * Assist in marketing programs and events sponsored by the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, and the ProArts consortium. Serve on consortium committees as assigned. * Assist Director and Student Development staff in supporting major university programs (i.e., Commencement, Accepted Students Days, Family & Supporter programs, etc.) * Performs other related duties as assigned. Working Conditions Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed Physical Effort Occasional (10-33%) - Reaching, pushing, grasping and pulling. Lifting up to 10 pounds. Frequent (34-66%) - Standing and walking. Constant (67-100%) - Viewing of computer screen and reports, sitting, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. Minimum Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's Degree * Experience: 1-3 years working in a Higher Education setting * Skills: o Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously o Strong oral and written communication skills o Ability to take initiative, and work independently and creatively o Computer literacy and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data analysis. o Strong fiscal management skills o Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting. o Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty to develop and implement programs and events for undergraduate college students Preferred Qualifications * Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Counseling or related field * Skills: o Experience supervising student employees, and advising student leaders o Spanish speaking and/or multilingual Additional Information: Please note MassArt does not provide the following: * Employment-based visa sponsorship or non-student exchange visitor visa sponsorship. * E-Verify. * Reimbursement for travel.
