Paralegal Government Bureau Trial Division The Attorney General’s Office is looking for a motivated individual to provide paralegal and administrative support to Assistant Attorneys General in the Trial Division. The Trial Division represents and defends the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, its agencies, and employees in a wide variety of civil lawsuits. Primary Duties: Provide day-to-day support for all aspects of the attorneys’ case requirements. The responsibilities for this position may include the following: fact gathering; legal research; attending client meetings and depositions (both in and outside the office), court hearings, and trials; drafting discovery or other pleadings; organizing and maintaining files; reviewing documents and exhibits; providing support and assistance to the attorneys in preparation for hearings, depositions, meetings, or trial; communicating with clients, attorneys, and witnesses, as well as court clerk's offices and members of the public; screening and preparing mail; managing calendars (including the scheduling of critical dates, deadlines, and case-related appointments); completing forms; preparing court documents for filing; and maintaining and updating a case management system. Additionally, there will be administrative and clerical duties, including the processing of all presentments, some typing and filing, and other duties, that may be assigned, as required.
