This Medical Technologist I will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of routine and highly specialized diagnostic tests and specialized procedures.

  • May perform specialized procedures in special laboratory sections unique to each laboratory’s discipline with supervision.

  • Evaluating whether the results are abnormal/critical and takes appropriate action internally/externally according to laboratory guidelines.

  • Recording results of tests with all supporting documentation for clinical interpretation.

  • Performing regularly scheduled quality control, preventative maintenance, and calibration of equipment according to laboratory guidelines. Performs all troubleshooting and repair.

  • Participating in department continuing education including training program expanding scope of knowledge.

  • Providing general assistance to less experienced laboratory personnel.

  • Communicating principle/theory to physicians and other professional staff.

  • Performing a variety of special projects and additional work as needed/assigned.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology OR Medical Lab Science OR related science

  • 2 year of Clinical Laboratory experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology OR Medical Lab Science preferred

  • The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles of good laboratory practices, and summarize the information and data in order to report test results and solve problems in the following areas: one or more disciplines of lab medicine including, Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology.

  • Knowledge of testing for unique discipline employed.

  • Ability to clearly articulate and work through all phases of laboratory testing including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical.

  • Laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration and use.

  • Compliance as defined by CLIA, OSHA, AABB or other related regulatory agencies, and Quality Control & Assurance.

  • Certification is required for BA/AS related science degreed individuals

  • National certification preferred.

Requirements in lieu of degree or experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Lab Science (includes U.S. Military Medical Lab Training course): No experience required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related science: National certification in area of experience, and a minimum of five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience required.

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Lab Science (includes U.S. Military Medical Lab Training course): A minimum of two (2) years of clinical lab experience required.

  • Associate’s degree in a related science: A minimum of six (6) years of clinical laboratory experience required.

Shift/Hours:

  • Day Shift: Monday - Friday, including rotating weekends/holidays(7am -3:30pm)

*This position is eligible for an Employee Referral Bonus of $2,000.00.*
