Description

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Mailroom & Facilities Associate manages the mailroom and provides assistance in support of the maintenance, repair and operations for all sites of the health center.

  1. Oversees & maintains mailroom services
  • Sorts mail from post office

  • Sorts and delivers internal mail in a timely manner

  • Delivers all boxes and packages to respective departments or employees in a timely manner

  • Meters all outgoing mail

  • Delivers all outgoing mail to post office

  • Fills and empties all currier bags

  1. Performs tasks related to the maintenance of building and grounds in a timely manner
  • Prepares conference rooms at all sites for meetings, luncheons, etc

  • Paints and performs other activities necessary for the cleanliness of and proper presentation of the facilities at all health center sites

  • Performs maintenance and repairs to agency facilities, including, but not limited to: performing basic plumbing, electrical work, HVAC maintenance and repairs and carpentry

  • Anticipates required plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other work, and makes recommendations regarding this work

  • Escorts vendors when center needs repair from outside services

  1. Accurately and in a timely manner oversees the monitoring and maintenance of a variety of health center supplies
  • Monitors the use of lunchroom supplies such as paper plates, napkins and plastic utensils

  • Monitors and cleans lunchroom including: wiping down counters and washing sinks, counters, floors, tables

  • Delivers copier paper so that it is available at all times at the various copier stations

  • Replaces toner in the photocopiers as needed

  • Keep up with cleaning bathrooms; Such as sweeping, moping, cleaning of toilets/sinks, paper/soap dispensers

  • Assists in preparing stock list

  1. Meet agency participatory expectation
  • Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures

  • Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested

  • Adheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality

  • Adheres to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situation

  • Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings

  • Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities

  • Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested

  • Adheres to proper dress code

  1. Performs related duties as required

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required

  • Basic knowledge of at least three of the following: heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and carpentry

  • Basic Computer experience

  • Basic knowledge of building codes highly desirable.

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to manage projects

  • Familiarity with reading blueprints

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with vendors and other professionals and monitor contract compliance

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors and visitors to facility

  • Experience working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse work staff preferred

  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals

Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Regularly walk, stand, stoop, climb, kneel and crouch

Salary Description

$22.62-25.38 an hour ($44,100 - $49,500/year)
