Boston University LAB MANAGER, College of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Mechanical Engineering (ME) department and the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Center (RASTIC) are seeking a laboratory manager. The department and the center are searching for someone who is passionate about teaching, eager to be active in a higher education space, and ready to collaborate with faculty and students in a vibrant environment. This position will include the maintenance of the lab equipment, help train graduate student teaching fellows on lab exercises, and incorporate hands-on lab components with course goals and program outcomes. They will also collaborate with course instructors to coordinate lab schedules, update and replace lab exercises, and create and maintain lab manuals and grading rubrics. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Director of RASTIC to ensure the center runs smoothly, effectively, and efficiently for its users and stakeholders. The lab manager should have enthusiasm for learning, teaching, and the future of applied robotics education.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 5+ years of experience, 1-3 years of engineering experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience in CAD and electronics with preferred experience with 3D printers, interfacing cameras and other sensors, robotic hardware
