Boston University PLUMBER/STEAMFITTER, Facilities Management & Planning, Mechanical Operations in BOSTON, Massachusetts

DUTIES:

· Install, maintain and service new and existing commercial, industrial, residential and laboratory plumbing systems.

· Plan and maintain preventive maintenance programs.

· Install and maintain and service domestic water booster systems with variable frequency drives.

· Maintain and repair sewage ejectors pumps and pits.

· Perform gas pipe installation, troubleshoot existing gas installations.

· Install and repair various pumps, valves, circulators, etc.

· Prepare stock orders for purchasing.

· Answer emergency mechanical system calls.

· Service, inspect, and repair back flow preventers.

· Follow department and University policies and procedures.

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have a valid Massachusetts Journeyman plumber license with 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance.

· Experience working on renovation projects preferred.

· Ten Hour OSHA's Construction Safety & Health Standards.

· Ability to work from ladders and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs,

· Must have own set of hand tools.

· Ability to speak, read, comprehend and write fluently in the English language.

· Must have and maintain valid Massachusetts driver's license and daily use of an automobile.

· Must successfully pass background check as determined by the university at the time of hire and continue to meet standards of the background check throughout period of employment.

· Ability to remain compliant with University policies.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

· Master Plumbers License.

· Sprinkler Fitters License
