Dana-Farber Cancer Institute HRIS Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts

Accurately and timely process HR transactions for DFCI workforce members and volunteers including job changes, hires/rehires, pay rate changes, salary allocation changes, office location changes and Employee Self-Service updates in PeopleSoft
Develops and monitors data integrity audits, in accordance to direction provided from HRIS Manager, to ensure compliance with data standards and HR policies (I-9, OFCCP, FMLA/ADA, personal information, job and leave information) and determining corrective action and communicating results as needed
Maintains several aspects of the Institute’s HR systems, including but not limited to security and access, pushing out templates, table updates, data clean up, trouble shooting problems, providing support to end users
Recommends and establishes efficient processes and procedures internally to insure proper handling of HR transactions, and documents within the departments established guidelines.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with co workers in other departments such as IS, Security, Finance, Research Accounting, as well as vendor representatives. Provides back up for HRIS coworkers for assigned systems and functions
Creates test cases, submits and tests system issues for various HR systems operated by HRIS during large events and new system implementations and upgrades.

BA/BS preferred
2-5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in the healthcare and/or research industry
2-4 years HRIS/data entry experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS preferred
Proficient analytical skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and a thoroughness in completing the work
Strong problem solving ability
Works well independently and as a team member
Follows well-established guidelines while looking for improved ways of accomplishing the work
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Good organization and follow through skills
Able to work with highly confidential material
Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to understand complex data models
Proficient knowledge of Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll procedures
