What We Need

BCBSMA is seeking for a talented and experienced Full Stack Architect to join our sales enterprise technology team and lead the development of cutting-edge software solutions. As a Full Stack Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust applications that meet our needs and drive business growth.

Your Day to Day:

  • Architectural Design: Design scalable and efficient full-stack solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to best practices and industry standards.

  • Technology Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for frontend, backend, and database layers based on project requirements and constraints.

  • Frontend Development: Lead the development of responsive and user-friendly frontend interfaces using modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.

  • Backend Development: Develop robust and secure backend systems using server-side languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Django, Flask, or Spring Boot.

  • Database Design and Optimization: Design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries for performance, scalability, and data integrity using both relational and NoSQL databases.

  • API Development: Design and develop RESTful APIs for seamless communication between frontend and backend components, ensuring scalability, security, and ease of integration.

  • System Integration: Integrate third-party services, APIs, and components into the overall architecture to enhance functionality and meet business requirements.

  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Implement testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, to ensure the reliability, stability, and quality of the software solution.

  • Documentation and Collaboration: Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation details, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and project managers.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and actively contribute to the improvement of development processes and methodologies.

    What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in full-stack development, with a focus on architecture design and implementation.

  • Proficiency in frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and popular frontend frameworks/libraries (React.js, Angular, Vue.js).

  • Strong expertise in server-side development using languages such as JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Java, or Kotlin, and frameworks like Express.js, Django, Flask, or Spring Boot.

  • Experience with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).

  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices, as well as experience with API documentation and versioning.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passion for technology, innovation, and continuous learning, with a proactive attitude towards exploring new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and related patterns and practices.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment tools.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA.

  • Certification or professional training in relevant technologies and frameworks is a plus.

Salary Range: $143,500.00 - $189,750.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
