Boston University DIRECTOR, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, College of Engineering, Administration in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Director is responsible for the management of the College of Engineering (COE) Career Development Office (CDO). In addition to supervising staff and existing programs, the Director is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of these programs and developing new programs as needed to support the COE undergraduate and graduate student populations of about 3,000. Programs include, student outreach, career coaching, and employer relations, cooperative education programs, career development workshops, career advising, first destination surveys and reports, and all related policies and procedures for the COE CDO. The Director keeps apprised of trends and methods employed internally and by other Universities to continuously support the current and evolving needs of the COE student population. The Director works collaboratively with the College leadership team, faculty and staff. Serves as the primary contact for corporate and employer interactions and relationships. Lead and cultivate internal relationships and effective collaborations with on-campus departments and functions including Alumni Relations, The Center for Career Development, Corporate Relations, Student Affairs, University Research, and other relevant members of the Boston University community. This position is crucial to the success of the College, it is important that the individual exercises confidentiality; is a self-starter; assumes responsibility; has excellent interpersonal and communication skills; exercises good judgment; is analytical and recommends solutions and alternatives. Required Skills

  • Master's degree w/ 5-8 years of experience including 3+ years of management experience.
