ICF Climate Resilience Specialist - HYBRID in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

Are you a seasoned professional ready to use climate data and analytics to tackle some of the most important problems in climate resilience? ICF is seeking a mid-career professional to help execute work related to physical climate risk assessment and climate resilience. Our world-class team works with commercial clients and all levels of government to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure systems vital to our communities across sectors, such as energy, transportation, and agriculture.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team that provides industry-leading risk and resilience assessment that is based in rigorous science, data analytics, and clearly communicated to enable proactive planning and implementation of resilience solutions.

ICF Climate LOB Hybrid Locations include Arlington, VA (Crystal City), New York City, Salt Lake City, Cambridge, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Honolulu. We may consider fully remote.

Your Role in Crafting the Future…

  • Provide technical expertise, innovation, and leadership related to the analysis and application of climate and extreme weather data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in climate science, atmospheric science, Earth science, data science, environmental science, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of impactful professional work experience in climate risk and resiliency.

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing, interpreting, and appropriately applying multidimensional climate model output and meteorological observations for climate risk analyses and resilience planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience applying climate change and/or extreme weather datasets to support climate risk and resilience projects in one or more of the following sectors: energy, transportation, community resilience, finance, or similar.

  • Advanced degree in climate science, atmospheric science, Earth science, data science, environmental science, or a related field.

  • Experience leading the charge on intricate projects within the consulting arena, both from technical and team management perspectives.

  • Experience using Python programming environments to process large, multidimensional climate and environmental datasets (e.g., NetCDF, Zarr, etc.), including using packages within the Pangeo ecosystem (e.g., xarray and dask).

  • Hands on experience using Jupyter notebooks within AWS cloud environments (e.g., SageMaker) for interactive data analysis and visualization.

  • Additional experience may include climate change research, critical infrastructure, risk management, asset management, and strategic and long-range planning.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$65,416.00 - $111,207.00
