State of Massachusetts Audio Visual Internship - Office of Leasing in Boston, Massachusetts

The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), which oversees the 2 billion in capital programs and projects, is responsible for capital planning, project delivery, property management, and real estate services for the Commonwealth. We are stewards of the Commonwealth’s assets, which include 61 million square feet of state buildings. We expect the intern to be a good communicator, team player and an active learner. The Office of Leasing and State Office Planning is responsible for the procurement and administration of over 600 rental agreements for more than 7.6 million USF of space. DCAMM represents the Commonwealth as Tenant, leasing space on behalf of state agencies. We procure leased space and provide lease administration services for more than 100 state agencies. In addition, we manage the office occupancy and AV systems in certain state-owned assets. Working alongside the Program Manager for Office Occupancy, the intern will be assisting with the Audio-Visual systems currently installed in our state-owned assets. _Responsibilities_ * Validate deployment locations and inventory of all DCAMM AV equipment * Troubleshoot AV equipment failures at the McCormack Building and 100 Cambridge Street, Boston and on occasion 200 Arlington Street, Chelsea. * Track and respond to AV trouble tickets as needed. * Assist with analyzing trouble tickets to identify patterns * Provide end user support/training for more complicated meeting spaces * Provide by request technical presence for highly visible meetings using DCAMM equipment * Other duties as assigned _Preferred Skills _ * Technical Proficiency: An intermediate understanding of audio and visual equipment including cameras, microphones, sound systems, and software. * Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively. Intern should be able to think critically and creatively to solve problems. * Teamwork and Collaboration: AV projects involve working closely with a team of technicians and other professionals. Intern should be able to collaborate effectively with others, take direction well, and contribute positively to group efforts. * Strong Customer Service Skills * Working knowledge of Audio-Visual principles and practices Please include a cover letter with your submission.
