The Opportunity and Who You’ll Work With:

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time, Benefits Eligible

Work Format: Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Out of state remote candidates will also be considered.

Schedule: Monday – Friday. Hours are typically 09:00AM-05:00PM ET. Occasional networking events during evening hours.

The Business Partnerships team is responsible for securing sponsorship and funding for editorial initiatives across all of WBUR’s platforms, including our local and national broadcasts, podcasts and on-demand audio, digital display and newsletters, live events, and custom content.

As Account Manager, Enterprise, you will be an integral part of the Business Partnerships team and report directly to the Sales Manager, Enterprise.

You will develop and maintain strategic advertising partnerships with direct clients and digital advertising agencies by identifying and developing new business opportunities with a primary focus on digital properties and custom content and a secondary on other platforms; offer solutions that help clients achieve their business goals; develop relationships and close business; and meet set sales targets.

Essential Functions:

  • (40%) Build and execute a sales pipeline plan with short, mid-range and long-term account targets. Manage and proactively sell to direct clients as well as advertising agencies.

  • (20%) Meet monthly and annual revenue goals according to sales plan through a deep understanding of WBUR’s digital product portfolio and available ad inventory (including streaming audio, podcasts, display, social platforms and custom content programs). Ability to cross-sell into broadcast and event space when it strategically aligns with a client’s goals.

  • (20%) Partner with digital operations to set proper expectations with customers and super-serve their needs. Develop presentations to direct clients and agencies designed to sell cross platform programs that align with client goals.

  • (20%) Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify key initiatives that will expand WBUR’s digital sponsorship opportunities and grow our overall revenue.

Required Skills

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience

  • 1-3 years prior experience in a digital sales role including podcast and/or custom digital content.

Capabilities and Proficiencies:

  • An excitement about WBUR’s mission to provide an essential public good: high-quality journalism and enriching experiences that foster understanding, connection and community.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Existing network of client and agency relationships.

  • Ability to design, deliver, and execute marketing strategies and presentations.

  • Prior demonstrated prospecting experience through cold calling, networking, and in-person events.

  • Demonstrated ability of reaching sales targets and revenue goals.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite/Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and activities at once and flexibility to re-prioritize.
