$24.66/hour

5% targeted monthly bonus.

The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Battery Yard Truck Driver to operate mobile equipment in order to move material required for plant operations. This position is located at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Forklift certification and other mobile equipment qualifications.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge related to the operation of jockey trucks and proper movement of trailers.
  • Ability to follow speed limits and job site rules with respect to traffic.
  • Ability to identify material within trailers in order to facilitate proper transport.
  • Ability to use scales and follow proper weighing procedures.
  • Background in maintenance and mechanics related to jockey truck and trailer.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive spotter/jockey truck in order to move trailers from storage points to receiving docks.
  • Scale loads for shipping and receiving.
  • Move materials and finished goods to points of usage.
  • Perform safe driving of mobile equipment.
  • Verify mechanical condition of jockey truck and trailer; maintain equipment.
  • Park equipment in safe condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work environment, Physical and Lifting:

  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear and exposed to outdoor weather conditions; frequently works near moving, mechanical parts and exposed to vibration; occasionally required to work in confined spaces. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Regularly required to drive; frequently requires sitting, feeling attributes of objects, and grasping; occasionally requires talking, hearing, pushing, standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing and balancing. Requires clarity of vision, precise hand-eye coordination, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
