Understand and lead technical aspects of the Device and Identity Technology team to ensure that our products are performing to BT/EE’s high standards. Supporting the business and vendors with the Operating System requirements we have. Where required, liaise with RAN and Device teams to deliver products and services at a level expected.

Help ensure the requirements we have on apps and licence ID’s, needed on our direct range products, align with our commercial needs. Work closely with the with the team to help achieve this.

The role will have access to keep abreast of any technology developments in the Android ecosystem. This will involve working with external vendors and internal teams. Day to day working with the Senior Vendor manager is required and possibly, vendor technical teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • To support and understand BT/EE apps, and services, to help ensure the Device vendors implement the settings we need.

  • To learn new technology concepts for supporting the app loading, placement, and ID inclusions in the current and future android ecosystems.

  • Assist in the design and building of any BT/EE technical acceptance scope for new apps while looking to improve any existing acceptance criteria.

  • To ensure all devices that can, launch and align to what BT/EE require in the “Over the Air Customisation” of the devices.

  • Following the strategic lead set by the Senior Manager and/or Head of Strategy, to support the journey so our customers can access the very latest services from us.

Skills required for the job

  • Office tools like Excel will be needed for the day-to-day work.

  • Good communication skills are needed as the role will be interacting with internal teams, external teams, and Vendors.

  • Some knowledge or experience of SQL would be advantageous.

  • Some travel between offices and vendors sites maybe needed so a driving licence would be beneficial.

  • Having some understanding of the Android Operating System will help.

  • An interest in new technology will benefit the role.
