Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

As a Solution Architect – PLM , you will act as part of a Professional Services team, work productively with Consultants, Product Architects, Project Managers, and other internal & external interfaces to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives.

You will be responsible for the translation of business requirements into specific Siemens DI Software solutions , aligning designs based on multi-product/multi-industry expertise. Your responsibilities will include interacting with customers to manage expectations and facilitate adoption within Siemens Delivery framework and offering architectural guidance for Sales/PreSales pursuits and Services projects, navigating solution complexities and providing long-term roadmaps. You will work autonomously to determine solutions and procedures for country-level assignments of varied scope and complexity, leveraging specialized architectural expertise.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand the purpose of the project, its contract type, the key deliverables and the engagement model

  • Work with the Customer to analyse and specify the requirements

  • Design the solution based on the customer use cases

  • Contribute to the validation and drive the solution´s implementation

  • Contribute to estimate work-package breakdown, schedule, capability and quantity of resources required for a successful implementation of the project plan

  • Work closely with project manager to ensure architectural alignment with project goals and delivery progress in line with the project plan

  • Participate pro-actively to the creation and development of a team working environment

  • Capture and share lessons learnt

  • Proactively engage in new business opportunities

  • Interact with global organizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience as Solution Architect or in leading enterprise software projects ideally on PLM platforms

  • Experience in the technical leadership of large software implementation projects

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices regarding PLM (product lifecycle management)

  • Experience in enterprise IT projects to large enterprises, ideally related to one or more of the following industries: Automotive, Aerospace and Defense, Energy, Machinery, Consumer and Marine

  • Proved Projects History

  • Excellent communication skills in Italian and English

  • Ability to identify problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis

  • Available to frequently travel across Italy
