Summary

CHS, a $33B global enterprise, has an exciting opportunity within our Ag Retail / Trading and Risk Management organization. The Regional Energy Pricing and Strategy Lead will facilitate the capacity utilization of assets in our Southern trade territory, inform and align with the overall trading strategy of the underlying product/commodity, and coordinate with Go-to-Market and Operations leaders in the area. This role is a key link in responsibility and leadership in the new CHS operating model.

The ideal candidate will live in Nebraska, Eastern Colorado or Western Kansas. Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between the Energy teams and the retail Operations

  • Lead the decision on retail energy pricing in the specified region, working closely with local operations and salespeople to set local pricing strategy as well as marketing programs 

  • Manage the long/short of positions in a geography to enhance margins in the trade area 

  • Manage the trading decisions for the capacity and assets in the geography to maximize our end-to-end margins in a coordinated manner with operations 

  • Maximize the arbitrage opportunity within the geography across products and modes 

  • Maximize the storage utilization of our facilities in the geography 

  • Collaborate with other regional leaders to develop local/regional strategy leveraging knowledge of area competitors 

  • Participate in industry trade groups and associations, in coordination with the CHS enterprise 

  • Participate in the corridor/global trading strategies, provide input and expertise to advance trading strategies 

  • Work with GTM and Operations teams to maximize CHS margin, put thru, quality and customer service in the area 

  • Work with Energy Supply team to maximize demand forecasting and logistics management

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED 

  • 4+ years of experience in Energy Department Management and/or Trading 

  • Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or related field 

  • Profit and Loss (P&L) management experience 

  • Experience achieving and exceeding budgeted financial goals 

  • Experience conducting market analysis, negotiating, and closing contracts

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
