As a TCAD Device Engineer at Micron, you will be responsible for process and device modeling for Micron's sophisticated memory technologies. You will perform detailed process and device design using sophisticated TCAD tools for semiconductor process & device modeling for Micron's next-generation memory technologies. Work closely with process integration engineers to craft experiments based on modeling and existing experimental results. Interact with a variety of teams including process integration, characterization, and circuit design and product engineers to analyze and debug device and circuit-related issues during process development!

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand process integration & various process modules and a strong MOSFET device physics background and familiarity with process fabrication and device simulation using sophisticated TCAD tools.

  • Experience in performing TCAD studies on semiconductor device characteristics to guide process experiments and device optimizations with scaling. Completing virtual Design of Experiments (DOE’s) using the models to supplement process development.

  • A sophisticated research/thesis work in area of process modeling and/or semiconductor fabrication can be substituted for lack of direct experience. Prior hand-on experience in commercial Mechanical Stress modeling and TCAD tools is helpful.

  • Experience/knowledge in CMOS and memory process flow, sub-100nm device physics, mechanical stress, innovative models used to craft process flows and predict device characteristics through numerical simulations.

  • Knowledge of innovative memory technologies, specifically for emerging memory, DRAM, 3DNAND cell designs, and Sophisticated CMOS technologies such as high-K metal gate, FinFET, and nano-wire devices.

  • Knowledge of electrical device characterization and design of test structures.

  • Ability to optimally coordinate multi-functional teams to achieve a goal.

Education:

1). M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering with 5-year semiconductor experience; 2). or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics with 4-year semiconductor experience; 3). or BS in Electrical Engineer, Material Science Engineering, Physics with 7-year semiconductor experience is required.
