St. Luke's Health System IHT Systems Engineer 3 in Boise, Idaho

Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, ID is seeking an IHT Systems Engineer 4 to join our Tech Ops Digital Experience System team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and defines business requirements and applies broad technical knowledge and best practices to design, develop, administer and maintain data systems in one or more IHT Engineering specialty fields.

  • Monitors and measures overall performance and scalability, performs root cause analysis and implements process improvement. Proactively identify potential issues and tunes appropriately.

  • Applies engineering expertise to provide technology roadmaps and innovative technical solutions that align with the strategic vision of the health system.

  • Assesses and optimizes the performance of new and existing systems and features.

  • Leads functional groups to establish and improve processes; develops and implements policies and procedures governing specialty Engineering discipline.

  • May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises or help develop disaster recovery or business continuity plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or experience in lieu of degree

  • Experience: 6 years relevant experience

  • Licenses/Certifications: None

Preferred Qualifications:

Background: This is an advanced engineering role on a highly skilled team that provides virtual application and desktop delivery via Citrix to healthcare professionals in hospitals and clinics throughout Idaho and Eastern Oregon. This role is primarily focused on virtual desktops and the user experience.

Required:

  • Passion for virtual desktops and user experience.

  • Proven ability to innovate and try new things.

Preference:

  • Virtual desktop experience on any platform (Azure, VMware, Citrix).

  • Citrix experience and certifications such as CCA (good), CCP (better), CCE (best).

  • Experience designing, implementing, integrating, maintaining, and testing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions in a large environment.

  • Experience ensuring the maximum availability of the system by administering, monitoring, and supporting all aspects of the VDI environment. Citrix knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Experience resolving production and deployment issues by troubleshooting and correlating all medium to high complexity VDI issues that affect operation of the environment.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and ensure that the VDI solutions meet their needs.

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and virtualization technologies in an enterprise environment.

  • Good working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.

  • 6 years’ experience supporting VDI in a medium to large corporate environment.

  • Responsible, reliable, takes initiative, patient, determined, assertive, inquisitive, has tenacity, a desire to learn, good at working with a team to achieve goals and resolve issues.

  • Experience with Citrix DaaS and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
