Job Summary and Description:

Looking for experienced Facilities Control Systems Engineers to be part of the design, construction, commissioning, and sustaining operations for our new innovative high volume manufacturing Fab and existing technology development fab in Boise, ID. The Facilities Controls Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with parallel engineering subject areas, to analyze operational efficiency activities, identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements and provide design input on projects. Will provide recommendations for operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of all control, instrumentation, SCADA, automation, and fire alarm systems. This position works directly with the operations team technicians and outsourced vendor maintenance teams monitoring systems parameters via intelligent systems such as SPC/IOT and SCADA, ensuring they are running within specifications. Collaborate with IT to ensure servers and communications backbone is properly maintained and reliable. Tracks and maintains PLC programs, I/O lists and point assignments. This posting requires a hard work ethic and diligent attention to detail. The Facilities Controls Engineer must have the pertinent people skills that enable the coordination with other system owners, maintenance crews and construction trades to drive projects and daily tasks. Will be responsible to develop operations and maintenance documentation and communicate with vendors providing services. Provides design engineering input for existing system modification, upgrades, and new equipment installations.

Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning of Control systems including:

  • Review of vendor provided design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy

  • Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.

  • Validation of engineering calculations

  • Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff

  • Review and validation of construction RFI responses

  • Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models

  • Field engineering QA during construction

  • Commissioning support

  • Entry of system information into a capacity planning software

Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills

  • Proven ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner

  • Proven ability to plan, drive and complete projects effectively

  • Proven skills in working effectively with team members from different subject areas

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be diligent, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex problems and address root causes

  • Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different subject areas

  • Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences

  • Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety codes and laws

  • Proven ability to reduce costs associated with a process or area

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot systems

  • Proven ability to use schematic diagrams to troubleshoot systems to components level

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Minimum – Degree in Electrical related engineering field or equivalent experience

  • Required: Three or more years of relative experience

  • Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering and/or your field specific Professional Engineer certification

  • Preferred: Three or more years of Facilities/Plant Operations experience in semiconductor manufacturing
