Summary

This role will manage projects to execute the Global Food enterprise and category strategies. As a critical thinker and experienced project manager, you will:

  • support the Enterprise PMO Manager – North America & LATAM by planning, monitoring and controlling key projects, including escalating key issues that impact the critical path of project delivery

  • partner senior cross-functional leaders to ensure execution alignment across the Global Food business

  • lead key projects/workstreams to execute Global Food’s strategic initiatives, including indirect management of project teams where required

  • providesupport to project Business Leads across functions and regions to ensure effective management of priority initiatives, you will ensure projects are fully defined and executed to meet Global Food’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management

  • Lead/support medium to large scale, medium impact projects where required to ensure the delivery of Global Food Enterprise Strategy and objectives.

  • Manage all aspects of projects from initiation through closure, including but not limited to, project charter, scheduling, task management and performance reporting. Build collaborative relationships with business leaders and project teams to resolve issues, mitigate risks and achieve outcomes efficiently.

  • Program Management Support

  • Using fit-for-purpose/’right practice’ processes and tools, partner Program/Project Sponsors, business leaders & managers to ensure related projects are aligned and managed cohesively and efficiently, identifying critical path, related risks, issue and dependencies. Ensure effective delivery and optimal resource allocation.

  • Periodically review initiatives to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives and their execution plans with Global Food enterprise and category strategies.

  • Continuous Improvement & Change Management

  • Drive continuous improvement within project teams as well as the broader organization (Global Food).

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure project management meets the expectations of stakeholders. Partner with EPMO Managers to adjust processes when needed.

  • Using Simplot’s change management framework and partnering with Global and functional change resources, drive effective organizational change and strive for increased efficiency and effectiveness within each project.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience post university qualification in a PMO or other project management role in a large corporate, or similar consulting experience

  • Accomplished program/project manager with knowledge and experience in leading large complex projects with cross-functional scope

  • Leads teams of people effectively in both direct/line and indirect (project) relationships, across multiple geographies

  • Familiar with strategic thinking principles, using robust critical thought to define, evaluate and recommend options

  • Experienced stakeholder manager at Sr Director / Director level, with ability to constructively hold others accountable to their commitments

  • Excellent written presentation and visualization skills (story telling)

  • Strong communication, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple stakeholders

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Powerpoint and Excel)

Required Certifications

  • Project Management Certification (PMI / PMBOK / Agile or similar) OR Post-graduate Certification in Project Management is preferred.
