Description

The Mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (https://www.idoc.idaho.gov/) (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime.

This exam includes the standards required for the Department's compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003.

The IDOC is currently seeking a clinician to serve as a staff wellness coordinator. This clinician will help establish a robust wellness program for IDOC staff and ensure that staff statewide have access to clinical resources when needed. Successful candidates will be licensed professionals, who have experience working with law enforcement staff, and who have familiarity with local community-based resources. The position will require travel to IDOC offices and facilities statewide, and work on varying shifts. This position will be Boise-based.

Upon establishment of the staff wellness program and based on agency need, this position may transition in responsibility and scope to provide clinical services to IDOC residents in the future.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.)

Supplemental Information

SPECIALTY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a current Idaho license as a Licensed Masters Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, or be license eligible within 90 days from the date of hire

  • Must be willing to work in a correctional facility and may include working non-traditional hours during evenings and/or weekends

To be hired, a candidate will have a history and background supportive of Department mission goals and will be subject to:

  • Completing a Background Investigation Questionnaire and pre-employment drug testing

  • Have a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints

  • Have a history of law-abiding behavior

  • Felonies, misdemeanors, illegal drug usage, DUI's, adverse driving convictions and employment history may make you ineligible for employment
