The Mission of the Idaho Department of Correction (https://www.idoc.idaho.gov/) (IDOC) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime.
This exam includes the standards required for the Department's compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003.
The IDOC is currently seeking a clinician to serve as a staff wellness coordinator. This clinician will help establish a robust wellness program for IDOC staff and ensure that staff statewide have access to clinical resources when needed. Successful candidates will be licensed professionals, who have experience working with law enforcement staff, and who have familiarity with local community-based resources. The position will require travel to IDOC offices and facilities statewide, and work on varying shifts. This position will be Boise-based.
Upon establishment of the staff wellness program and based on agency need, this position may transition in responsibility and scope to provide clinical services to IDOC residents in the future.

Note: The incumbent must have a Master's Degree in social work, psychology, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field and possess licensure as a Licensed Masters Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor within 90 days from the date of hire.

Example of Duties
Link staff to community resources
Build relationships with community providers to strengthen resources
Create a monthly newsletter to provide wellness resources to staff
Provide oversite of staff wellness programs to including obtaining resources and setting up potential services
Be a liaison between line staff and administration to identify areas of need when it comes to staff wellness
Frequently visit our various facilities and offices to connect with staff and share resources
Provide on-site support for staff experiencing stress, burnout, or other mental health concern
Coordinate with Critical Incident Stress Management teams and other peer-based support initiatives within IDOC
Provide crisis intervention services
Other duties as assigned
- A Master's Degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.)
Must possess a current Idaho license as a Licensed Masters Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, or be license eligible within 90 days from the date of hire
Must be willing to work in a correctional facility and may include working non-traditional hours during evenings and/or weekends
Experience working with law enforcement staff in a clinical or wellness capacity
Knowledge of community resources and treatment modalities
Experience linking clients to community resources
To be hired, a candidate will have a history and background supportive of Department mission goals and will be subject to:
Completing a Background Investigation Questionnaire and pre-employment drug testing
Have a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints
Have a history of law-abiding behavior
Felonies, misdemeanors, illegal drug usage, DUI's, adverse driving convictions and employment history may make you ineligible for employment
