Western Aircraft A&P Maintenance Summer Internship 2024 in Boise, Idaho

Full-time, temporary position – June 3, 2024, to August 16, 2024

The A&P Maintenance Summer Intern will work side by side with licensed maintenance technicians to assist them with inspection, testing, repair, maintenance, and service of aircraft using test equipment and hand tools, as needed, to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists licensed maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft

  • Ensures proper care of customer property at all phases of maintenance work

  • Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal tool box

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • This program is open to students who are currently enrolled in an accredited A&P program with their first year completed

  • Strongly mechanically inclined

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong ability to learn and retain detailed information

  • Excellent at following specific instructions

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Capability to suggest/Implement process improvements to facilitate better support of the customer

Other Prerequisites

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
