This role will be part of the Enterprise Business Solutions team in the Controllership process area. This position reports into the Controllership Manager and is based in Bogota, Colombia.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Reporting Oversight:

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of US GAAP, Local GAAP, and Tax reporting.

  • Record statutory ledgers and maintain accuracy of parallel ledgers.

  • Focus on correct tax accounting and coordinate with tax teams.

  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams.

Accounting Management:

  • Manage general process flows for Balance Sheet and Income Statement.

  • Handle items like OIE, Retained Earnings, Equity clearing, Interest, Royalties, and Brand Marketing expenses.

  • Ensure correct allocation and apportionment of costs.

Financial Period Management:

  • Timely closing and execution of financial periods as per closing calendar and SLA commitments.

  • Ensure compliance with Internal Audit, SOX requirements, and other regulations.

  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity of reported actuals.

Continuous Improvement:

Foster a continuous improvement mindset.

Identify and implement process efficiency opportunities.

Align with global strategies and solutions.

Process Improvement and Audit:

  • Design audit plans including schedules and communication protocols.

  • Implement process improvements aligned with global standards.

  • Conduct reconciliations between local and corporate financial figures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • You should have at least 4 years of experience having under responsibility the attention of the financial external audit (Big Four experience preferred)

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, interpersonal skills, understanding of accounting principles and practices, compliance knowledge (SOX and internal controls)

  • Intermediate English Level -

  • Learning agility and adaptability to different business requirements. These competencies are critical as this role will initially be part of the finance & accounting teams pool of flex talent during onboarding, to be deployed to the permanent position once readiness criteria are met and role has been identified.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

  • Be open to new ideas, rapid change and embracing new technologies.

  • Strong Analytical Skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local regulations in countries other than Colombia (Strongly Preferred).

  • Experience in a Shared Service Centre of a multinational corporation or BPO.

  • Experience in a Global Accounting for a large multi-state company.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach.

  • Successfully manage multiple priorities, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines.

  • Solid US GAAP accounting knowledge.

  • Digital/ intelligent automation capabilities.

  • This position will require up to 5% international travel.

  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Office in particular Excel.

  • Lead/Participate in other Regional/Global/Cross functional duties as assigned.
