The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic direction for Python development within the company, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the technical team stays on track with project timelines. Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the strategic direction for Python development within the organization

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions

• Write clean, optimized code complemented by unit testing to ensure functionality and reliability

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, conducting code reviews and promoting continuous learning

• Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving and coding, showcasing technical expertise and innovative thinking

• Monitor project timelines, prioritize effectively, and escalate issues when necessary

• Demonstrate proficiency with advanced machine learning concepts, distributed systems, and processing large-scale data assets

• Show commitment to software craftsmanship, valuing clean, reusable code, automated deployments, and a test-driven development mindset

• Be adept with modern web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI) coupled with advanced database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Have hands-on experience with contemporary container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Stay conversant with current software architecture trends, including microservices and async messaging or event-driven systems.

Requirements • Extensive experience in the Investment Management industry, preferably in a senior software engineering role

• Proficiency in software languages such as C++, Python, and ASP.NET

• Knowledge and experience with database management and Framework design

• Familiarity with EO/IR systems

• Proficient use of GitHub for version control and collaboration

• Experience with Hibernate ORM for handling database operations

• Familiarity with AB Testing for optimizing user experience and system performance

• Proven track record in API development

• Strong design skills, with a focus on optimizing user interface and user experience

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
